The anti-coronavirus measures imposed by the Government on the restaurants and wine tourism sector affects Montalcino (and other Italian terroir) that sell their wines in the national and international Horeca. So that’s why Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino ask to the Councillor for Agriculture of the Region of Tuscany, Marco Remaschi, for the declaration of the state of natural disaster, with access to the National Solidarity Fund and the Government’s guarantee regarding the extension of loans and debts.
“We are convinced that this is not a structural crisis, but an economic difficulty generated by Covid-19 which should be contrasted with a strong reaction based on credit endowment and marketing activities. We are planning an articulated promotional plan on the main outlet markets, like Germany, United States and Italy to support the Brunello brand” says the president of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino, Fabrizio Bindocci.
